Celebrating Women in Clean Energy for Women’s History Month
We are excited to share than the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association highlighted Cypress Creek’s Kimberly Rees for Women’s History Month. Kimberly is a Field Service Technician in our Operations and Maintenance Services group.
In the video, Kimberly said, “I don’t think that women intrinsically want anything different than men, I think that they are just encouraged to do different things when they’re growing up.”
Kimberly got into the renewable energy industry at Appalachian State University. She said, “Especially right after the recession, a lot of people were worried about not getting a job out of college. And it seemed like solar was a pretty good chance, because it was such a growing industry in North Carolina.”
She describes why she likes her work as a Field Service Technician, “I like that it’s a combination of working with my hands but also problem solving.”
