Cypress Creek applauds NC leadership on bipartisan energy legislation
Cypress Creek applauds Governor Cooper and the leadership of the General Assembly for passing historic bipartisan energy legislation. The legislation, the first of its kind to be passed in the Southeast by a Republican legislature and a Democratic Governor, creates a roadmap for North Carolina to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 70% by 2030 and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 in the power sector. North Carolina has long been a leader in renewable energy innovation, attracting new businesses to the state, keeping energy costs low for families, and providing hundreds of millions of dollars in private investment and tax revenues for communities. Cypress Creek looks forward to supporting implementation of the legislature’s intent to secure least-cost resources through competitive procurement, building on the state’s successful Competitive Procurement of Renewable Energy program, and to continue supporting economic development across the state.
Cypress Creek is the largest owner and operator of solar energy projects in North Carolina. From Cypress Creek’s national control center in the Research Triangle Park, the company operates more than 2,300MW of projects across the state.
