Cypress Creek secures EFSEC recommendation on 160MW Carriger Solar project in Washington State

June 25, 2025

June 25, 2025 – OLYMPIA, WASH. – Today Washington’s Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (EFSEC) voted to approve the Site Certification Agreement (SCA) for Cypress Creek Renewables’ 160-megawatt solar project, Carriger Solar, and recommend the project to Gov. Bob Ferguson for final consideration.

Approval of the SCA for Carriger Solar represents the culmination of nearly eight years of planning and environmental study, including 28 months of formal EFSEC process. Cypress Creek is deeply grateful for the engagement of stakeholders throughout this long process and for the continual leadership of EFSEC staff. Years of work and coordination have resulted in a project which avoids any unmitigable significant impacts to resources while providing important state and local benefits including clean, reliable, carbon-free power. Cypress Creek is incredibly proud of the final outcome – a project that is sited consistent with local zoning, on private land that’s largely unirrigated, and without impacts to sensitive environmental or cultural resources.

“We’re hopeful that Governor Ferguson will recognize the thoughtful planning and siting of this project, and the benefits it provides,” said Sarah Slusser, Cypress Creek CEO. “Cypress Creek is committed to responsible and thoughtful development, and we are eager to continue to work to support Washington’s goals.”

Cypress Creek is a developer, owner, and operator of transmission and community-scale solar and storage projects across the United States. In Yakima County, Wash., Cypress Creek’s Ostrea Solar project was approved in April 2023 and is currently under construction.
