North Carolina sustainability nonprofit recognizes Cypress Creek Development Director

Cypress Creek’s success in developing more than 6 GW of solar and operating 2.5 GW of solar is the direct result of our people. As such, we’re thrilled to share that Cypress Creek Development Director Tyler Norris has received the 2019 Individual Clean Energy Leader of the Year Award from North Carolina’s most active sustainability nonprofit organization, the NC Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA).

We think this recognition demonstrates our Shared Values of care, conviction and collaboration that Tyler, and all Cypress people, put into their work and partnership with organizations that advance solar.

The award recognized Tyler for his work to further the growth of the North Carolina solar industry. According to NCSEA, the Individual Clean Energy Leader Award is given to an individual who has helped advance clean energy in North Carolina through their commitment and leadership:

“Since joining the Cypress Creek Renewables team, Tyler has demonstrated dedication to addressing North Carolina’s utility-scale solar and energy storage policy and market challenges. His support has been invaluable to NCSEA’s work in 2019, with the completion of projects such as NCSEA’s joint Clean Energy IRP study with Synapse Economics and GridLab being highly improbable without Tyler’s leadership and advocacy on behalf of NCSEA. Tyler also served as an expert witness on important energy storage issues in front of the North Carolina Utilities Commission.”

The Cypress Creek team looks forward to fostering more collaboration between industry, NCSEA, and other important state-wide partners in 2020.
