Cypress Creek Renewables Contributes $220K in Drone Equipment to Vets to Drones

Vets to Drones, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing veterans with training and opportunities in the field of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), is thrilled to announce a generous donation of UAS equipment from Cypress Creek Renewables.
Cypress Creek Renewables is a leading renewable energy developer and independent power producer. It develops, finances, operates and owns solar and energy storage projects across the United States, bolstering the country’s energy independence and resilience.

“Veterans bring significant value to the renewables industry through deep, transferrable skills forged in high stress environments,” said Brian Case, US Army veteran and Executive Vice President of Operations at Cypress Creek Renewables. “We are honored to make a donation to Vets to Drones in support of their efforts assisting veterans entering the commercial drone industry and their recent work in the wake of Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina.”
The donated UAS equipment, worth about $220,000, will play a crucial role in Vets to Drones’ ongoing mapping efforts for Hurricane Helene response. This advanced technology will enable their team to conduct detailed aerial surveys and assessments, facilitating efficient disaster response and recovery operations. The data collected through these efforts will be instrumental in identifying areas most affected by the hurricane and coordinating relief efforts effectively.
Additionally, this donation will support the Appalachian Rebuild Project, an initiative under Vets to Drones that focuses on hands-on rebuilding efforts for communities in Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties. Through this project, veterans are empowered with practical skills while contributing significantly to local rebuilding initiatives.
