Women in Solar: Arti Batta

March is Women’s History month. As a tribute, we wanted to highlight a few of the amazing women that are helping Cypress Creek to power a more sustainable future, one project at a time. Arti Batta is a Managing Director leading Cypress Creek's Mergers and Acquisitions initiatives.

What does it mean to you to be a woman in clean energy?
I’m proud to be a woman in clean energy. Our industry is particularly dynamic with smart people from all backgrounds, genders and perspectives coming together to imagine and shape a decarbonized economy. The work we do aims to address a very global issue that impacts all of us and I love meeting other women who are motivated by these challenges.

What is the best career-related advice you've ever received?
I am lucky to have had mentors early on who demonstrated that authenticity is powerful and cultivated that in me. Also, to speak up.

What advice do you have for other women working in, or looking to work in, clean energy?
Definitely to go for it. There are many different career paths in clean energy and all are very impactful. If you are just starting out, be open minded, ask a lot of questions and pay attention because the opportunities are abundant. If you are switching careers, be thoughtful about how to message your skills and mindset, demonstrate interest in the space and seek to network – there will be a spot for you.

Cypress Creek team members embody our 5 core values: Care, Courage, Creativity, Conviction, Collaboration. Pick one and tell us what it means to you.
Courage is necessary to evaluate risk, make meaningful decisions and highlight errors to make room for learning. Fostering courage, alongside preparedness and rigor, is critical to our success.

What is something outside of work that people would find interesting about you?
I do Wordle every day!
