Cypress Creek Sponsors UNC Clean Tech Summit
Cypress Creek Renewables was pleased to participate in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Clean Tech Summit March 1–2 at the UNC’s William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education. Now in our second year of sponsorship, we are proud to support this conference and this excellent opportunity to encourage dialogue and innovation within the clean tech industry, as well as enabling access to some of the state’s industry leaders of tomorrow.
In 2016, we gained several interns and new hires from our participation in the UNC Clean Tech Summit. We were glad to have the chance to expand our talent network this year, along with sharing our vision for large-scale renewables implementation and U.S. energy independence. We were so proud that our own Megan Neligan, from the Project Finance team, was a featured speaker, joining North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, State House of Representative Chuck McGrady, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Double Time Capital Rye Barcott and many more important voices shaping the region’s clean tech industry.
The themes that guided this year’s summit were Innovation, Clean Energy, Food, and Water and Energy. These topics were addressed through a series of keynotes, panel discussions and workshops. Participating organizations and industry experts also connected with UNC students through the Summit Mentor Program and networking lunch.
Sponsoring and participating in the UNC Clean Tech Summit is part of Cypress Creek Renewables’ greater effort to make a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate. We believe, as a job creator and provider of dependable, affordable clean energy, utility-scale solar represents the next chapter in North Carolina’s history as a leader in energy innovation. As a corporation dedicated to the promotion of widespread solar access for everyone, Cypress Creek Renewables is committed to doing its part to support clean technology efforts like the annual summit at UNC. We are excited about another great Summit and look forward to next year!
